Pockets on the top of the pad allow the use of different felt inserts to increase the thickness of the pad or to make minor adjustments to the saddle fit.
I have never used the inserts myself as I trust my saddler more than my own skills ^^ But of course I will send the felt inserts with the pad.
The only damage to the pad is the Velcro loops at the front. I cut them off at the time, but the pad never slipped, so I don't see that as a problem. If necessary, new Velcro can be sewn back on, so it's nothing dramatic.
