Open stable space for Icelanders - Self-catering stable on the city border Dortmund -Brechten/Lünen has 2 places for Icelandic horses available immediately. The stable is located on a small remaining farm, approx. 3 minutes from the B236 exit. We have our own lighted riding arena, the RV Brambauer is about 10 minutes away on foot.
I am looking for Icelandic company for our 15 and 16 year old mares (ISI and Hafimix). They prefer company but also get on well with compatible geldings. The paddock is covered with artificial turf (great in snow and rain!!!), has two shelters, a spacious sandpit, raised bed and a large hay rack. During the grazing season there is of course a meadow available. (Not only) for emergencies there are 2 large and beautiful boxes. The price includes 15 bales of home-made hay per animal per month. The other hay costs are approx. 50-80 (depending on the current hay price) per month
A kitchen, a bathroom and a tack room are available for the two-legged friends.
I am only looking for Icelandic horses, as my mare clearly shows that she would like company that speaks her "dialect".
As self-caterers, we share the stable duties on a daily basis. With 2 horses, one service currently takes about 30 minutes, so that adds about 15 minutes per animal. On your "free" days, you don't have to do any work. You can't "buy your way out" of these services permanently. We have a riding area with beautiful trails, but we are nowhere near as good as regions like the Haard or Münsterland.
Any further questions? Or not sure if it would be a good fit? Then just write to me!
Edit: As one of our girls is currently in hospital and the other is on her own, moving in at short notice might be an option.
