In Celtic tradition, Samhain is a powerful turning point in the annual cycle. It symbolizes the cycle of life, death and rebirth. In the transition to the dark season, nature comes to a standstill or even leads to death for some plants and creatures, only to blossom again in spring.

This is an ideal time to track down and correct mental blockages and inner resistance so that your horse can blossom again with new energy, resulting in greater well-being and balance.

To give you an idea of what these two terms can mean, I've put together a few examples:

Inner resistance:
Avoidance of situations:
Shows itself in training, e.g. through "cheating"

Reluctance:
Horse is extremely sluggish during training, for example, or young horses suddenly lose interest in exploring or playing with their peers

Irritated / annoyed
Shows itself in training e.g. by walking against the hand or bucking when the leg aids are given
Irritated/annoyed towards members of the herd

Dissatisfaction
Can be expressed by kicking the stall walls or unusual behavior towards herd members, for example

Impatience
appears hectic during training, for example, or no longer performs lessons with the usual care

Mental blockage:
Insecurity:
manifests itself during training, e.g. through nervousness that was not normally present
drops drastically down the hierarchy when herding

Strongly emotional:
Anger, fear, panic, etc. in a wide variety of life situations

Self-sabotage:
the horse is suddenly extremely careless and so repeatedly gets itself into situations where it causes itself severe injury
can also involve carelessness towards the owner and other horses
