Nutritional counseling for horses - Dear horse owners,
It was recognized early on that nutrition is one of the most important pillars of long health for humans. It took many years for this understanding to now be applied to horses. Unfortunately, a trend has developed in recent years that more and more horses are falling ill. The keyword here is the so-called "prosperity diseases" that arise due to feeding that does not meet the needs of the horse. At this point, we deliberately refrain from using the word "wrong" feeding, because what is good for one horse may do more harm than good to another. The market is overflowing with all kinds of remedies for every possible problem. This is exactly why it is so important to look at the horse's individual needs and create a feeding plan specifically for that horse.
During a nutritional consultation I therefore first look at the ACTUAL condition of the horse. This impression is supplemented by a detailed anamnesis conversation with the owner. In this conversation I ask about all known problems and other abnormalities of the horse. The owner's wishes are then incorporated into the TARGET condition. These wishes can mean less "physical suffering" but also "more performance" or "mental balance". If available, blood counts, doctor's reports, fecal and urine samples also flow into my calculation. With all this information I create the individual feeding plan for your horse at home with quantities and product recommendations. As an independent nutritionist, I am not bound to any company and can therefore suggest the best possible product for your horse. You will then receive the nutrition plan including all recommendations by email. If desired, we can still discuss the results by phone.
It is advisable to look at the results so far after 8-12 weeks and make small adjustments.
Especially in the case of pre-damaged horses, the diet should be checked at regular intervals.
